Account Executive - Universities (North India)

India Content Strategy Manager

Coursera is a leading online learning platform for higher education, where 77 million learners from around the world come to learn skills of the future. More than 200 of the world’s top universities and industry educators partner with Coursera to offer courses, Specializations, certificates, and degree programs. Thousands of companies trust the company’s enterprise platform Coursera for Business to transform their talent. Coursera for Government equips government employees and citizens with in-demand skills to build a competitive workforce. Coursera for Campus empowers any university to offer high-quality, job-relevant online education to students, alumni, faculty, and staff. Coursera is backed by leading investors that include Kleiner Perkins, New Enterprise Associates, Learn Capital, and SEEK Group.
The Content Strategy team is the company’s forward-looking radar and content innovation hub — driving relevant content to empower learners. We identify in-demand topics, arm and advise our university and industry partnerships teams with data and recommendations on what courses will be most attractive for our learners, launch cross-team initiatives to further the Health agenda, and co-incubate emergent health topic areas and product lines.
We are seeking a data-minded strategist with strong knowledge of both India’s higher education systems and how programs (Certificates, Degrees) are regulated. This person will provide strategic consultation to our University and Industry Partnerships teams about the content needs of our Enterprise, Degree, and Consumer learners in India. Across these three business lines, you will need to understand the needs of smaller or second tier universities in India; learners coming out of university and into the workforce; learners who aspire to get online degrees; and consumer and enterprise learners who use Coursera’s content to upskill in their current jobs, or enter new careers.
In this position you will use on- and off-platform data to inform the company’s India content strategy. You will identify gaps and areas of over-saturation, and consult to our Partnerships teams on ways to fill these gaps with content from universities and companies across the world. Additionally, you will educate the rest of Coursera about India’s content landscape — market forces, growing industries, job demand, learner mindset, popular content, thought leaders, and more. The research will likely include competitive analyses as well as forward-looking research to identify trends of the future for India’s university and industry learners. This person will also be responsible for identifying and reaching out to key informants in the field for background on topic areas, and recommendations about what new content Coursera should add. In this role, you will be the India content expert within Coursera.
