In the Civil Peace Service, we offer professionals the opportunity for meaningful service in cooperation with local development actors. The Civil Peace Service (CPS) is a personnel program for violence prevention and peacebuilding in crisis and conflict regions. It is committed to a world in which conflicts are resolved without violence. Together with church and civil society partner organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, AGIAMONDO aims to make a contribution to civil conflict resolution and sustainable, equitable development in the country through peace-building measures.
As a CPS partner organisation, the Center for Peacebuilding (CIM) works to overcome violence, mistrust and social division as a result of the Bosnian war. The aim is to promote peaceful coexistence through interfaith dialogue, youth encounters and the recognition of human rights crimes. In a region where ethnic-religious tensions continue to characterise everyday life, working with young people offers a wide range of opportunities to shape sustainable peace processes.
To support our partner organization, we are looking for the next possible date for a Peace educator for interfaith youth encounters and dialogue work (m/f/d).
Your tasks
- You will develop creative and effective formats for youth encounters, dialogue projects and continuing education measures such as summer camps, mentoring programs or workshops on political education.
-
You will design and moderate interfaith and interethnic projects for young people from different parts of the country and from abroad.
-
You will support the partner organisation in the application of new project management methods – especially in the area of analysis, planning, monitoring and evaluation (APME).
-
You will strengthen the capacities of CIM by way of organisational development training, especially regarding fundraising and networking.
-
You will be responsible for the proper disbursement and administration of financial resources on site in accordance with donor guidelines and AGIAMONDO specifications. You will work in partnership with the Center for Peacebuilding (CIM).
Your profile
-
You have a university degree in social work, education, peace and conflict research or a comparable field.
-
You have at least three years of experience in youth work, peace education, interfaith dialogue or intercultural educational work.
-
You are experienced in the conceptual design and implementation of events such as workshops, camps or seminars.
-
You have sound knowledge of project management and the acquisition of third-party funding.
-
You have experience in public relations, networking and organisational development.
-
You speak fluent English and are willing to learn Bosnian, Croatian or Serbian.
-
You have a driver’s licence and driving experience.
-
You are an EU or Swiss citizen and identify with the goals and concerns of church development and peace work.
The position is not suitable for families with children, as there are no international educational or childcare facilities in Sanski Most.
