Summary of position:
The Common Service Administrative Assistant (LE-05) provides daily administrative support and services; provides and creates information and/or documentation; provides support for ongoing program activities; including logistical support, responds to service requests from clientele and performs other duties as required.


Essential qualifications:
Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, experience and language. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and CV how they meet each of these essential qualifications.

Education: n/a

Language: Fluency in English (oral and written).

Experience
• Minimum 2 years of recent* corporate or government experience within a team environment providing services to clients in an administrative support or assistant capacity;

• Experience with logistical support to clients;

• Recent experience* in accounts payable, accounts receivable and/or general accounting;

• Experience and proficiency with/in Microsoft Office Suite, i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook; and

• Experience using financial management systems.

*Recent experience is defined as within the last 3 years.

The Rated Requirements relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies will also be assessed. Methods of assessment may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview, role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.

• Knowledge of administrative processes and procedures;

• Basic knowledge of accounting/financial terms, concepts and procedures;

• Knowledge of logistics management; and

• Knowledge and proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite, e.g., Word, Excel and Outlook.

Operational Requirements:
Normal hours of work for this position are in accordance with the Locally Engaged Staff (LES) regulations of 37.5 hours per week. Occasional overtime, including evenings and weekends, may be required with advance notice.


Condition(s) of Employment:
Eligibility for a Government of Canada Reliability Status which includes a criminal and credit background check.
