A day in the life of a Fountain of Life Program Manager in Cambodia

Join us as the Fountain of Life (FoL) Program Manager at Samaritan’s Purse in Cambodia!  As the FoL Program Manager, you will oversee the implementation of a new, multi-sectoral program seeking to provide year-round access to water, which in turn will lead to development of basic household level livelihoods, and reduce unsafe migration and migration out of desperation through education.  Your expertise and efforts will help to show the love of Christ to a desperate and struggling population.  Let God put your talents to use for a humanitarian cause with a lasting purpose. 

Job Duties

  • Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
  • Manage and implement the program, ensuring effective integration of the WASH, Livelihoods, and Protection activities.
  • Provide active guidance to staff to ensure all activities are planned, prioritized, carried out according with the program logframe and workplan.
  • Manage finances of all program activities, including budget preparation, revision, and monitoring.
  • Ensure an effective monitoring and evaluation system is established and implemented for the project in line with ministry policies to measure impact of the program.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships and ensure proper approvals are in place with the Ministry of Rural Development and its counterparts at the Province and District levels.
  • Attends daily morning devotions and participates in prayer support for the ministry, donors and volunteers.
  • Maintains a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public.
  • Other duties may be assigned that are not specifically identified within the content of the job description.
  • This role supervises 10-15 employees and supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Agriculture, Livelihoods or other related discipline; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • At least two years of experience managing Livelihoods and/or WASH and/or Protection programs.
  • Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in Southeast Asia is desirable.
  • Strong monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and financial management experience.
  • Proven international management and leadership experience.
  • General knowledge of basics within the three intersecting sectors involved in this program
  • Thorough knowledge and/or experience in livelihoods and cash programming will be advantageous.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal communication skills.

 

Job Location: Battambang, Cambodia

Type (Full-Time/Part-Time/Associate): Full-Time

Restrictions (Accompanied/Non-Accompanied): Non- Accompanied (no spouse or children)

Language Requirement:  Fluent spoken and written English required. Khmer language desirable, but not required

Travel Expectations: Overnight domestic travel of approximately 30 days/year.

12-month contract with the potential for renewal
