Position Overview:

The IT Specialist provides support and services related to software, hardware, databases, and other systems.  The position helps determine the technology goals of our organization and is responsible for implementing computer systems to meet those goals.  Primary duties include setting up and training new users, troubleshooting computer problems, managing users in various computer systems including Salesforce, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Guru, Qualtrics, Dropbox, Campaign Monitor, Form Assembly and Asana.

Salary: $65,000 DOE with health, retirement, vacation benefits

Reports to: Vice President of Finance and Operations

Desired Start Date: 04/15/2024 (flexible)

Classification: Regular Full Time

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:                                                                                                       

  • Analyze the organization’s computer needs and recommend possible upgrades to consider
  • Plan and direct the installation and maintenance of computer hardware and software
  • Ensure the security of an organization’s computers and electronic documents
  • Work with Center of Excellence MCC staff team to develop and maintain a Technology plan
  • Assess the costs and benefits of new projects and specialized computer software selection
  • Learn about new technology and look for ways to support ongoing IT needs and purchases
  • Plan and direct the work of outside consultants if needed
  • Maintain computer inventory, including maintaining and keeping track of software, hardware, and licenses
  • Provide training and support to all MCC employees
  • Work closely with all agency personnel in a supportive or advisory manner
  • Additional duties as assigned
  • Contribute to MCC diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives

Salesforce Specific Duties:

  • Maintain Salesforce database by setting and enforcing standards and controls such as duplicate checking
  • Manage user requests for functionality and customization and development of reports and dashboards
  • Involvement with developing working relationship, utilizing support contract and new project agreements with outside Salesforce consultant
  • Develop new forms utilizing Forms Assembly or other app
  • Manage user maintenance and permissions
  • Provide prompt support to all users, troubleshoot and resolve issues as necessary

Qualifications & Skills:

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Two years’ experience working in an IT role
  • Knowledge of and experience with various computer programs
  • Experience with collaboration and customer service attitude
  • Experience with Salesforce
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience presenting technical information
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups
  • Ability to quickly write routine correspondence, reports and memoranda.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle records check

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Four years’ experience with working with and managing databases and computers systems
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university
  • Experience with Salesforce apps such as Apsona and Form Assembly
  • Excellent follow-through and accountability

Work Environment

While based out of the Bozeman office, the position will need to travel to regional offices to provide technical support and training.
