The Travel Assistant position is located in USAID/Honduras’ Executive Office (EXO) and works under the direct supervision of the Supervisory Executive Specialist (Deputy Executive Officer) or designee. The function of the Executive Office is to provide a full range of administrative management services in support of USAID activities in Honduras.

The incumbent serves as the subject matter expert on travel and the automated travel system and is responsible for the operation and supervision of USAID’s travel processes. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the main point of contact for providing the full range of travel services for U.S. Direct Hire (USDH), U.S. Personal Services Contractor (USPSC), Cooperating Country National (CCN) and Third Country National (TCN) employees on travel and transportation arrangements and attendant services both within the country and international travel as required. S/he will prepare official travel documents for all employees and their authorized dependents, ensuring that all travel adheres to Agency and U.S. Government (USG) travel policies and regulations. S/he advises staff on the travel regulations, recommends innovative solutions to streamline travel procedures and automate processes to provide high level of customer service.

In addition, the incumbent arranges for and facilitates the storage and shipment of furniture, incoming and outgoing shipment and customs clearance of the household goods and personal effects, privately owned vehicles (POVs), Household Effects (HHE), Consumables (CNS), Unaccompanied Air Baggage (UAB) and other property of USDH personnel. Prepares and approves vouchers for travel and outgoing shipment of effects. S/he liaises with the Department of State Consular Section, Travel Section, and Customs and Shipping Section on all related travel matters.
