WHO WE ARE
The European Industrial Hemp Association (EIHA) represents the common interests of hemp farmers, producers and traders working with hemp fibres, shives, seeds, leaves and cannabinoids. Our main task is to serve, protect and represent the hemp sector in the EU and international policymaking. EIHA covers different areas for the application of hemp, namely its use for construction materials, textiles, cosmetics, feed, food, and supplements. The organisation was founded 20 years ago in Cologne, Germany, and opened its new headquarters in Brussels in 2020. Our network encompasses 26 EU Member States and 12 non-EU countries, including members in North America and the Asia Pacific. In total, EIHA acts on behalf of more than 250 members who represent the entire industrial hemp value chain, from seed to shelf.

SCOPE AND REPORTING LINE
The Regulatory Officer will work under the management of the Managing Director. S/he will also collaborate with the Senior Policy Advisor and report to him directly in matters related to his specific policy files and the other team members (Communications Officer and Office Manager). The successful candidate will work on a wide portfolio of EU regulatory aspects related to hemp and hemp products.
TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES
The following tasks will be executed by the successful candidate:
- monitoring of the EU legislation and relevant initiatives.
- preparing regulatory analysis, legal notes and policy briefings for the colleagues, the Board and the members.
- preparing EIHA’s positions and liaising with other national and EU associations.
- attending public events as participant and intervene when necessary.
- translating regulatory information into communication content for new and traditional media.
IDEAL PROFILE
> Education and experience
Mandatory:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Previous experience (3/4 years) in regulatory affairs and/or policymaking.
- Perfect knowledge of the decision-making process in Brussels.
Ideally:
- Degree in EU law.
- Knowledge of the hemp sector, bioeconomy and/or sustainability policies.
- Experience in a European Institution or in EU law/regulatory affairs.

- Professionalism (punctuality, dedication, attention to the details, etc.).
- Problem solver, creativity and sharpness in analysing information.
- Strong interest and motivation for working in the hemp sector.

Mandatory:
- Working knowledge of English.
Ideally:
- Working knowledge of one or two additional languages.
- Basic knowledge of or interest in developing other languages.
> Computer literacy
Mandatory:
- General computer literacy.
- Very good knowledge of the Office package, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
