Role Specification
ENoLL Office is looking for an International Project Manager to join our international team with the focus of successfully implementing goals and objectives of the SCORE and OpenLab projects. The employee will work under the guidance of the ENoLL Head of Projects and will regularly report to assigned supervisor, as well as compliment activities of the ENoLL Office.
About the SCORE Project
SCORE will reduce the impacts of sea level rise and extreme events due to climate change on European coastal cities by co-design, and co-development with citizens and stakeholders, and by deploying, testing, and demonstrating innovative EBAs, smart technologies and hybrid Nature Based Solutions (NBSs), while facilitating financial sustainability. SCORE is based on the novel concept of a Coastal City Living Lab (CCLL) that expands Living Labs to a wider vision for coastal cities and settlements. Living Labs are user-centred, open-innovation urban ecosystems, where both public and private agents’ partner to address different issues.
About the OpenLab Project
The oPEN Lab project aims to demonstrate the feasibility of promising technologies, processes and social innovations, leading towards positive energy neighbourhoods and pave the way for a wider replication. The oPEN Lab project will demonstrate an integrated, participatory and neighbourhood-based approach by implementing three open innovation living labs in urban environments, whereby the integrated approach combines sustainable design tailored to the local context, seamless industrial renovation workflows, renewable energy generation combined with energy flexibility, including energy storage systems, urban service facilities and smart operation, life cycle thinking and circularity.
Key responsibilities:
- Actively contributing to design an overall CCLL framework and methodology that will be applied in the SCORE project by providing a State-of-the-art review of living lab framework and methodologies relevant to CCLLs.
- Make presentations and validate the overall CCL framework and methodology, thus contribute to the contextualization of the CCL approach and their preparation for successful deployment of the LL activities.
- Support the design of the methodological framework for analysing the socio-economic impact of the EBA interventions within the SCORE project.
- Analysing the living lab framework conditions and design needs of OpenLab.
- Supporting the living labs’ development, management and implementation of OpenLab, by conceiving the Capacity Building Programme for the project.
- Setting up open calls for living lab technology challenges and opportunities.
- Foster EU-cross-fertilisation among the three Energy Livings Labs’ continuous exchange of knowledge in a collaborative environment.
- Timely production of results and meeting deliverable deadlines.
- Drafting of documents and reports for the project.
- Regular reporting to the ENoLL Head of Projects. Coordination of activities together with the ENoLL Office and when necessary, with the project partners.
- Attendance at monthly reporting meetings with project partners, as well as technical meetings when deemed necessary by the ENoLL Office.
- Proposals’ writing for Horizon Europe Calls for Proposals either for ENoLL and its members from the network.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will balance excellent required technical, project management and stakeholder engagement skills in a multicultural context, with the ability to execute its work in a team environment. The candidate will share ENoLL’s Vision and Values.
Qualifications & Knowledge
- Good knowledge of management and reporting of European Commission funded projects.
- Good knowledge of the Living Lab approach.
- Expertise in the Energy & Environment policy domain, as well as the Open Innovation field will be desired.
- Very good understanding of co-creation and co-design methodologies, user-centred design will be a plus.
- Ability to produce clear and concise documents in a timely manner.
Experience
- Previous experience in EU funded projects of at least 1 year, possibly in the Energy and Environment field.
- Track record of liaison activities with senior experts and project partners.
- Previous experience with the Horizon 2020 projects and proposal writing will be an asset.
- Experience in developing Living Lab methodologies and supporting the setting up of the LLs at European level will be desired.
- Impact assessment and interventions’ evaluation expertise, as well as in the Capacity Building of Living Labs will be a plus.
- Good knowledge/track record of working in and for the Living Lab and open innovation community.

Working Conditions
- Remuneration and duration: Employee salary with complementary benefits based on actual experience.
- Location: Belgium or Italy
- Travel: travels might be necessary depending on need, within Europe.
