Overview
The Senior Paralegal will provide administrative, operational, compliance and legal support to the Legal Division within the Office of the President. The Senior Paralegal will work closely with the Registration Coordinator to handle a range of legal and administrative tasks for the office. The Senior Paralegal will be primarily responsible for tasks that are distinct from registration, but also may be called upon to handle registration overflow in coordination with the Registration Coordinator, including tracking and monitoring registration status and compliance. The tasks and matters that are distinct from registration may include training and presentations by the attorneys or Compliance Director, issues arising under U.S. law, including intellectual property matters, tax matters, fraud, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, False Claims Act, and Freedom of Information Act requests, Legal meeting agendas and departmental notes, among other things. The Senior Paralegal will also be involved with issues under foreign law, such as employment law, privacy concerns, litigation, and other matters. The Senior Paralegal will be responsible for helping to systematize and improve the efficiency, functioning and organization of the legal office. These tasks will include responsibility for obtaining approval and payment of legal invoices.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Registration Coordinator on registration overflow, and tracking and reporting of registration information
- Support on litigation matters, include tracking, document hold memos, document collection, etc.
- Handle administrative tasks, including invoice approval and processing, and other administrative support to attorneys
- Update and complete electronic files with necessary documents related to registration, litigation and other matters;
- Devise or improve electronic forms and processes for managing legal and compliance information;
- Support on special projects, such as attorney presentations and training materials, measures of success, and other matters
- Perform legal and non-legal research as requested by attorneys
- In coordination with the Point of Contact (POC) from Human Resources and local counsel, manage and monitor the adaptation of Creative’s HR manual and employment agreements to ensure compliance with local labor laws;
- Manage and coordinate, with input from the GC and external counsel as needed, the processing of Creative’s trademarks, statements of use, extensions, copyright registrations and any other documents related to the protection of the company’s intellectual property;
- Manage, review and update as needed, Legal’s library of corporate templates, such as teaming agreements and non-disclosure agreements;
- Engage in regular and frequent communication with the field offices to proactively address legal, operational, labor, taxation and real property issues, and/or troubleshoot legal and compliance-related issues as they arise;
- Manage documents and schedules, and coordinate with other company officials, when litigation, investigations (internal or external) or emergency situations arise;
- Coordinate, and support as Company POC, incoming and outgoing FOIA actions;
- Participate and assist, as needed, client, external and internal meetings, workshops, trainings and events, as appropriate;
- In coordination with the General Counsel, develop and conduct regular trainings on HQ Legal’s policies and best practices; and

Bachelor’s Degree in an area relevant to this employment opportunity;

Paralegal certification;

At least five (5) years of prior relevant work experience;
