Samaritan’s Purse mobilizes staff and equipment and enlists thousands of volunteers to provide emergency aid to victims of tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires, floods, and other natural disasters in the United States. We often stay behind after our initial response to rebuild or restore houses for needy families.  You could have a Career with Impact as a Cook at our Rebuild Project in Breathitt County, Kentucky, cooking and serving 20-30 staff and volunteers!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
• Prepare menu, orders, purchases, and maintains food to serve the staff and volunteers.
• Give all receipts to Office Manager/Volunteer Coordinator for reporting as well as each week’s completed time sheet.
• Maintain the kitchen and equipment in a clean manner.
• Prepare breakfast and dinner each day at set times and provides items for the volunteers to prepare a bag lunch each morning before going out to work.
• In charge of cleanliness of kitchen and dining hall.
• In case of emergency, follows protocol which will be established by the Office Manager/ Coordinator and Project Superintendent.
• Is familiar with all Samaritan’s Purse staff members.  Greets all staff and visitors where practical, and utilizes volunteers to assist as needed in the kitchen.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Previous food preparation and ability to provide meals to groups of 20-30 people.
