The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Global Assurance Manager to be based in our central London office. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Internal Audit Manager with significant client service and people management experience, the ability to understand complex financial and operational risk, and proven experience of delivering risk-based internal audit.

This is a truly global role, in which you will work with the Global Assurance (GA) team located across three ‘hubs’ (London, Nairobi and Manila) to ensure a uniform voice, and the delivery of the annual programme of work. You may be required to undertake international travel (20-25%), take a lead role in developing and building relationships with senior management teams – at our offices in London, as well as specific focus on key relationships in Latin America and the Caribbean.

In this role you will deputise for the Director of Global Assurance whenever needed and, crucially, act as GA’s ‘account lead’ for Save the Children UK – a Save the Children Member organisation to whom Global Assurance also provides internal audit services.

In order to be successful you will bring:

  • Significant post-qualification experience in risk-based internal audit, preferably in the public and/or not-for-profit sectors
  • A proven ability, and experience of, communicating, negotiating and challenging risk and control practices at all levels, and in large, complex organisations
  • An ‘outcomes’ focus with direct experience of understanding complex risks and processes, working understanding and experience of applying risk-based internal auditing and a good understanding of the three lines of defence model
  • A proven ability to focus on key issues and the ‘big picture’ as opposed to a compliance-only approach; and the ability to communicate these in writing
  • Experience of leading, working on, and delivering multiple projects, with conflicting priorities, on a timely basis
  • Demonstrable experience of managing multi-disciplinary (preferably global) teams in a matrix-managed structure, with strong people-development experience
  • A proven track record of producing high quality, effective oral and written communication in English (and preferably also in French) for a wide range of audiences
  • A desire to work in countries where Save the Children International operates, some of which are fragile states. The travel will requirement will be 20-25%, but some flexibility would be required to cover any additional need.
  • A track record of continuously improving the way internal audit services are being delivered

  • Proficiency in French or Spanish is desirable.

We can offer circa £ 62,000 per annum ( If based in UK) with an option of flexible of working hours

We also offer 30 days annual leave and a company pension scheme. Full business travel insurance, accommodation, and a per diem allowance is provided whilst travelling.
