The Opportunity
Do you love identifying and building meaningful partnerships with multinational companies, foundations, and governments that help drive growth and impact? Do you have experience leading business development and fundraising efforts for mission-driven organizations? If you’ve answered yes, this role could be a great fit!
The Re:Coded team has doubled since 2020, and we’re seeking a Director of Global Partnerships. You’ll lead the business development function at Re:Coded, identifying new opportunities for partnerships with entities who are excited to share in Re:Coded’s mission and build meaningful, new relationships. You’ll also lead the development cycle through all steps of the process from proposal to signed contract.
You’ll be instrumental in our growth, and we’re looking for a leader who is strategic and tactical in owning and building this area of our organization. You’ll also be an organizational leader and have incredible impact on Re:Coded’s growth trajectory.
What You’ll Do
We’re a globally distributed team, and this is a 100% remote role (we prefer the UTC -3 to +5 timezones). We’re also a young team which means you’ll have a lot of growth opportunities during your first year (and beyond) at Re:Coded. Here’s what you can expect, and we’ll also leave space for you to define your role, too!
In your first 90 days, you’ll:
- Familiarize yourself with Re:Coded’s education programs, partnerships and potential areas of revenue generation.
- Start building out a detailed CRM that includes all prospective, current, and past partners and record comprehensive notes from all conversations.
- Start to provide weekly structured partnership pipeline updates to select SLT members to accurately capture all potential partnership and revenue activity and apprise them of needs and next steps to close.
- Start to report directly to Re:Coded’s CEO as your strategic partner in this work, but primarily operate autonomously as head of business development.
In your first year, you’ll:
- Define the organization’s medium and long term fundraising strategy in partnership with the SLT.
- Focus your work primarily on securing multi-year partnerships ranging from $100k – $2M+ in annual contract size and help to manage existing and new partnerships.
- Manage and keep up-to-date a detailed CRM of prospective, current, and past partners.
- Develop out our ongoing relationship management strategy in partnership with other relationship managers across the organization.
- Consistently optimize partnerships strategy based on real-time feedback from prospects.
- Regularly communicate with the broader Re:Coded team to ensure that all commitments made to partners are designed with the teammates who will ultimately be affected.
- Represent Re:Coded at relevant industry events where you will develop relationships with prospective partners, and often speak at said events.
What You’ll Bring
- Ability to own and lead the entire spectrum of the partnership development cycle, from sourcing to pitching, closing, and nurturing ongoing relationships.
- Knowledge in developing and presenting creative, bespoke ideas to foundation or corporate executives to secure multi-year partnerships.
- Demonstrated experience working alongside a partner or team as well as have an ability to take full ownership of a project from start to finish
- Exceptional skillset in research and proposal design to develop presentation materials (documents, slide decks, etc.)
- Excellent relationship management skills.
Who You Are
- You engage in your own self-development and continuous learning to identify strategic growth areas that contribute to your success.
- You’re a honest, transparent storyteller with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- You gain energy through conversation and building deep, trusted relationships. You genuinely love meeting new people and are comfortable liaising with senior decision-makers.
- You thrive when juggling many moving parts simultaneously, and you can turn up the hustle when necessary.
- You understand the importance of versatility and proactively take ownership
- You believe that when work is done well, magic is in the details.
- You identify with and get excited by Re:Coded’s core values and mission.
