The position is located within the Health Technology Centre (HTC) in UNICEF Supply Division. Through applied technical, contractual and operational expertise, HTC supports UNICEF country programmes and procurement services partners.

How Can You Make a Difference?

Under the supervision of the Contracts Officer, the Procurement Associate performs all procurement activities in compliance with the UNICEF Financial Rules and Regulations, Supply Division Manual and other applicable procurement procedures. 

The Procurement Associate will be responsible for assistance for a segment of products in HTC, including medical Equipment and oxygen supplies, providing effective services to customers, ensuring accurate and timely processing of requisitions and requests up to the completion and closure of the order, with the overall goal of meeting the needs and requirements of the customers. Main duties include:

  • review requests and to issue purchase orders for oxygen products.
  • carry out transactional activities, expediting, contractual amendments, prepare Contract Review Committee (CRC) submission (as necessary), etc.
  • coordinate with manufacturers, freight forwarders and TLC on expediting deliveries.
  • participate and facilitate discussion with suppliers on reserving future production capacities for oxygen products.
  • oversee stock levels and replenishment of oxygen consumables in SD warehouses and all related transactional activities.
  • manage communication and coordination with the Country Offices on operational matters.
  • carry out procurement services transactions, including the GF Wambo orders and SFF-funded activities. This requires communication with countries on their requests, CE drafting, issuance and acceptance, VISION transactions following up on funds release, SO and PO issuance.

To qualify as a Champion for every Child you will have…

Required:

  • Completion of secondary education
  • A minimum 6 years relevant working experience, preferably in a procurement function in a commercial fast-paced working environment
  • Fluency in English
  • Valid work permit and residency in Denmark at the time of submitting the application. Note that the selected candidate is responsible for obtaining any required extension of their residency permit as an extension cannot be dependent on an employment with UNICEF.

Desirable:

  • Technical or University level courses in economics, International Development or similar fields
  • Proven ability to manage and monitor the effective implementation of procurement activities
  • Experience with procurement of medical equipment
  • Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems
  • Knowledge of UNICEF programmes or other UN agencies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package, Word, Excel and Power point
  • Proficiency in an additional UN language (Russian, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, French)
