Adjunct for Journalism and Media Studies


Trinity Washington University is seeking adjunct faculty members to teach courses in the Journalism and Media Studies program. Courses include: Public Speaking, Fundamentals of Journalism, Multicultural Media History, Media Ethics, Speech Writing, Intro to Mass Communication, and the Journalism Capstone.

QUALIFICATIONS: Successful candidates should have earned at least a Master’s degree from an accredited institution in journalism or communication and be able to demonstrate strong teaching skills. Previous undergraduate classroom experience required. Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D.

Official transcripts for all degrees earned, sample course syllabi, course evaluations and/or other evidence of teaching effectiveness, and contact information for three professional references will be needed if the candidate is invited to campus for an interview. Knowledge of best teaching practices is required. Finalists will be invited to campus for an interview and teaching demonstration. Preference is given to candidates who demonstrate excellence with engaged and active learning practices.
