Assistant Professor of Sociology, General Faculty


The University of Virginia’s Sociology Department invites applications for a one-year non-tenure track assistant professor, expected to begin August 25, 2021. The initial one-year appointment may be renewable for an additional year contingent upon funding, satisfactory performance, and departmental teaching needs. Subject areas of particular need include, but are not limited to, gender and/or sexuality, inequality, and family. The core responsibilities of this position include teaching six courses per year, three each during the spring and fall terms. The successful applicant will hold a PhD in sociology at the time of the appointment.
