US Advocacy Campaign Specialist

Position Summary:
Reporting to the U.S. advocacy campaign associate director, the U.S. advocacy campaign specialist will provide project management support for the three remaining years of Habitat for Humanity’s five-year U.S. advocacy campaign to improve home affordability, Cost of Home. They will support and track campaign implementation across its six primary objectives: building state and local network capacity, informing, and mobilizing advocates, influencing federal policy, elevating housing affordability, mobilizing resources and coordinating the campaign.
Working with the other members of the Advocacy Campaigns team, the campaign specialist will be responsible for coordination of the campaign across the Habitat network and the affordable housing sector — in close collaboration with the Public Policy and Government Relations team — to achieve our goal of 10 million people with improved home affordability through policy and systems change at the local, state and federal levels. The campaign specialist will also help manage and improve strategies — particularly related to monitoring campaign progress, learning, and enrollment — to ensure Habitat’s U.S. affiliated network’s advocacy and policy capacity is sustained beyond the life of the campaign.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor and report on campaign progress and performance, including tracking of quarterly progress, development of annual progress report, and ongoing tracking of and lessons learned from campaign activities Oversee affiliate enrollment and level of involvement in the campaign, and monitor their campaign activities.
Support development and implementation of campaign’s learning strategy, including webinars, trainings and materials. Ensure network campaigning examples are leveraged for peer learning.
Help maximize impact and use of campaign resources published to network intranet. Ensure common understanding of all campaign deliverables and timelines.
Support key campaign stakeholder groups (i.e. endorsers and campaign cabinet). Support campaign elements of Habitat’s annual legislative conference and other campaign-related events.
Other related duties as assigned by supervisor. Success Criteria: Indicate the metrics or other standards that will be used to measure success in this role. Internal campaign goal of 200 affiliates conducting effective, sustainable advocacy reached.
Campaign tracking driving the strategic direction of the campaign. Learnings, tools and resources developed helping to build capacity of affiliates to engage in the campaign.
Required Knowledge & Expertise:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or equivalent experience. 2 to 4 years of related experience.
Qualifications:
Strong project management skills; able to manage multiple strands of work towards an overall objective Highly organized; excellent attention to detail; ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities
Advanced knowledge of and experience in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and/or other project management tools Track record of effective collaboration across teams and networks
Comfortable with a fast pace and rapidly changing environment; ability to learn quickly, take initiative and handle ambiguity Demonstrated interest in addressing the housing need within the U.S.
Preferred – in addition to minimum:
Experience in using quantitative and qualitative analysis methods to assess campaign effectiveness and recalibrate as needed Strong communications and professional writing skills.
Familiarity with Habitat for Humanity and/or other affiliated networks.
