ROLE of the POSITION
The Assistant Professor-in-Residence position oversees the School’s Audio Production and Digital and Social Media concentrations, serves on the School media operations leadership team, and teaches courses in audio production, digital and social media, and new technology. This person in this position plays an active role in managing internships, chairing the scholarship committee, recruiting and retaining students, and developing programs and curriculum. The non-tenure track position requires a 4-4 teaching load with possible course reductions for administrative duties as assigned by the School Director. The position also is expected to have a strong record of interdisciplinary and inter-departmental collaboration and service.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a Ph.D. in journalism, media and/or communication, or educational instruction and technology from a regionally accredited college or university. It also requires professional media experience in audio announcing, storytelling, and production. There is also the expectation of significant college teaching experience, student mentoring and advising, and curriculum development. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.
SALARY RANGE
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
