Unit Paid Faculty teach additional courses on an as needed basis

The University of Virginia Department of Sociology seeks applications to fill non-tenure track Instructional positions during the 2021-2022 academic year. Teaching load will be a minimum of one, but no more than three, course(s) during the academic year based on need, and at the discretion of the department chair. Preferred areas of expertise include, but are not limited to gender and/or sexuality, inequality, and media. Compensation will take the form of wages. A terminal degree is expected but not required. Candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
