ECODIT seeks applications for long- and short-term positions for the anticipated USAID Moldova Energy Security Activity (MESA). The objective of MESA is to strengthen Moldova’s energy security by: (1) advancing the physical and market integration of the Moldovan energy sector with Europe; (2) increasing renewable energy integration; and (3) increasing investment in energy efficiency and domestic power generation, particularly through increased adoption of renewable energy technologies.
ECODIT seeks qualified candidates to support a range of potential activities over the life of the project, per the following requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in International Development, Economics, Public Policy, Energy, Engineering, Law or other relevant field and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience working on donor funded activities; experience supporting USAID projects preferred;
- Experience working in one or more of the following technical areas:
- Renewable Energy Development and Integration
- Energy Efficiency and Demand-Side Management
- Energy Sector Governance and Reform
- Energy Sector Planning and Resilience
- Energy Market Development and Market Coupling
- Engineering and Infrastructure
- Energy Generation, Distribution and/or Transmission
- Utility Operations and Management
- Energy Sector Regulation, Tariffs and Cost-Planning
- Private Sector Engagement
- Investment Attraction and Energy Sector Financing
- Energy Policy and Regulatory Affairs
- Emerging Technology
- Communications and Outreach
- Information and Knowledge Management
- Capacity Building and Stakeholder Engagement
- Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL)
- Gender and Social Inclusion
- Project Management
- Operations and Logistics
- Procurement, Contracts and Grants Management (previous experience with Grants Under Contract preferred
- Finance and Administration/Human Resources
- Strong project management skills, along with highly developed interpersonal skills, analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Demonstrable understanding of regional energy/utility sector activities in Moldova or another country with a similar sociopolitical context;
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills in English; and
- Written and verbal fluency in Moldavian and/or other languages such as Romanian, Russian a plus.
