Financial management is crucial to the performance and success of any company. The roles and responsibilities of the Coursera Finance team include accounting, financial reporting, analysis, planning, budgeting, and compliance. Problem solvers at heart, this team works to fuel Coursera’s growth by developing creative solutions in response to accounting and finance challenges.
The Payroll Analyst will be a motivated self-starter who enjoys diving into the details to understand essential payroll concepts and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and wage and hour laws.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process semi-monthly full cycle US payroll; including but not limited to, timesheets, garnishments, benefits, taxes and variable payments while ensuring compliance with tax regulations
- Process stock based compensation transactions (ESPP, NQSOs, ISOs, RSUs)
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and wage and hour laws; Assist with international payroll
- Collaborate with People Ops, Equity, and Legal in the administration of payroll; Interact with external vendors to ensure that data is processed accurately and timely
- Research issues independently and complete tasks with limited supervision
- Management of payroll-related projects including year-end preparation, resolve payroll tax issues, support annual audits and other ad hoc projects
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with end-to-end payroll processing
- Payroll experience in a public company and SOX experience
- Experience in excel, with creating pivot tables and v-lookups
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated history of finding the root cause of issues and developing process improvements
- Strong communication skills, written/verbal, and the ability to interact with employees at all levelsCPP/FPC certification a plus
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now, Celergo, and/or Workday
- Experience with Netsuite is a plus
- Proficiency with Google Suite in an office environment
