The Role

We are looking forthe EFSVL Coordinator to be responsible for internal and external coordination, technical guidance and support in the design and implementation of Oxfam’s food security and livelihoods activities in all areas of operation. He / She is responsible for ensuring Oxfam in the Rohingya Response in Bangladesh, is technically strong across the sector through capacity building of Oxfam and partner staff, coordination and collaboration with other agencies, donor proposals, programme design and strategic planning ensuring high quality and collaborative interventions, monitoring and accurate data collection, and deliverables within donor and Oxfam guidelines.

The EFSVL Coordinator’s main role is to analyze the situation, assess vulnerabilities of the affected populations in the humanitarian context and provide strategic technical leadership to the EFSVL team and partners to plan and implement effective emergency food security and sustainable livelihoods programme. He/she is also responsible for overall coordination at Cox’s Bazaar level with the Food Security & Livelihoods sector partners and technical working groups such as Cash Working Group (CWG).

What we are looking for

Minimum graduation with professional qualification and proven knowledge in large-scale project management, minimum 5 years’ experience at similar job level in relief, recovery and /or development work with INGO / NGO/ or Government, and knowledge and experience of work in EFSVL interventions, especially use of cash for work, cash grant and cash vouchers; strong oral and written communication skills in both Bangla and English languages, strong project cycle skills: assessments, design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and strategic planning skills, ability to present concise reports, plan workload and demonstrate accountability with minimal supervision, sometimes on a short notice, strong commitment to social justice, social protection, promoting women transformational leadership and equality, proven ability to develop good local knowledge as well as excellent analytical skills, the ability to use sound judgment, take the initiative and make independent decisions as well as work flexibly within a team, ability to link EFSVL work with relevant Govt. ministry and private sector to influence and scale-up good practices, diplomacy, tact and negotiation skills as well as sensitivity to cultural differences, experience and adequate knowledge in data entry and database management and mobile device and other software technology (e.g. SCOPE Platform; Survey CTO)
