Organization Background:
Collateral Repair Project, founded in 2006 to support refugees and impoverished Jordanians in East
Amman, runs emergency assistance programs and vibrant community centers in Hashemi Shamali and
downtown Amman. The people CRP serves struggle to take care of their basic needs and to rebuild their
lives.

CRP’s holistic approach focuses on positive growth and change. We first provide families with
emergency assistance and then offer them educational, community building and psychosocial activities
through our Family Resource and Community Center. CRP’s programs include computer classes, English
lessons, trauma-sensitive yoga, a men’s support group, women’s empowerment workshops, children’s
activities, and art workshops. Volunteers from Jordan and abroad run all of the programming at CRP,
with many programs led by refugees from CRP’s community. We prioritize hiring staff who are creative
problem solvers, hard workers, and actively take initiative to develop our programs and move our work
to the forefront of best practice.

Position Description:
The MarComs Assistant’s primary remit will be to provide oversight for Collateral Repair Project’s
fundraising campaigns, author communication materials, and provide donor communication and
tracking. S/he will be responsible for implementing and reporting on campaign targets, monthly donor
targets, managing donor communication and retention, assisting in running social media channels, and
maintaining CRP’s website. The MarComs Officer is responsible for maintaining associated technologies,
including Salesforce, Zapier, Google Adwords, and Google Analytics.

S/He will be responsible for managing all of Collateral Repair Project’s communications activities,
including blog posts, videos, and social media posts. S/He will be responsible for ensuring a high quality
of content and providing adequate protections for beneficiaries as they tell their stories. S/He will
actively manage interns and edit their work all under the guidance of the MarComs Officer.

A key job competency is proficiency of technologies used and the ability to skillfully manage a team focused
on a variety of marketing and communications tasks. Strong communication skills are required.

The Marketing and Communications Assistant is responsible for activities including, but not limited to:

  • Designing and implementing fundraising campaigns, including implementing the design on our website and helping meet campaign targets
  • Managing all social media and website content, and writing and sending emails throughout the campaign
  • Designing and sending monthly donor newsletters via Mailchimp
  • Managing all social media content, including photos, videos, and blog posts
  • Creating materials for grant partners and strategic donors
  • Conducting donor relations, including outreach efforts to retain monthly donors
  • Training and working with interns to help manage all marketing and communications processes
  • Website maintenance, boosting posts on social media and designing paid advertisements for Facebook and Google Adwords as necessary
  • Liaising with fundraisers here and abroad to provide needed materials and technical assistance
  • Monthly fundraising reporting and analysis to present to CRP Communications and Executive Directors
  • Updating Google Sheets and extracting information from Salesforce for various sheets
  • Maintaining donor database via Salesforce and managing the automated data processes in Zapier to keep the database accurate and available

Candidates should be/have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Experience working in donor relations or in customer service
  • Proficient in social media platforms (namely, Facebook & Instagram) and an understanding of digital marketing strategies
  • Strong writing skills in English
  • Detail-orientated, punctual and competent multi-tasker
  • Creative, flexible, and a good problem solver
  • Sensitive to the confidentiality and protection of vulnerable persons
  • Proficiency in Arabic, highly desirable **
    Expected Salary: **4,800 Jordanian Dinar/year
