The Role
Oxfam GB is looking for a H&S Advisor to support our Retail Operations. The Retail Health and Safety Advisor works as part of the Health and Safety team in promoting a positive health and safety culture across the organisation.
Supporting the Retail network (shops, warehouses and associated support functions) the role should promote best practice and capacity build within the shop teams to develop their knowledge and skills in H&S.

What we are looking for
We’re looking for a candidate who cares about Oxfam’s mission to end poverty and is personally aligned to the values of empowerment, accountability and inclusion in all you do and our feminist principles.
Our next H&S Advisor will need great influencing skills and the ability to share their knowledge and experience of operationalising H&S best practices within a retail network.
An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:
- NEBOSH Diploma (working towards or equivalent experience) and ideally membership of a relevant professional body (i.e IOSH)
- Knowledge and experience of operationalising H&S best practice
- Experience of conducting and managing H & S investigations, including conducting interviews with all parties and taking statements
- Experience in delivering, designing workshops and training
- Numeracy and computer proficiency (MS Office packages)
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Good knowledge of relevant legal frameworks, risk management and UK H & S Law
