Postdoctoral Associate

Summary

TAILOR Labs, the Maresso group, and Baylor College of Medicine are seeking candidates for a Postdoctoral Associate to conduct original research in the area of CRISPR-mediated engineering of prokaryotic and eukaryotic genomes. This is part of a larger effort to adapt personalized medicines to diseases where evolution undermines treatment (antimicrobial resistance, cancer, etc). This is a high risk, high reward project that will push and explore new biomedical frontiers. The ideal candidate will have substantial knowledge CRISPR biology, including construct creation and molecular mechanisms of action. Additional molecular biology experience a plus. Candidates should also have demonstrated success as a recent PhD graduate, creative out-of-the box thinking, and willingness to join and work with a large, highly collaborative research team exploring the universe of adaptable therapeutics.

Job Duties

  • Generate new experimental paradigms; be able to design controlled experiments
  • Analyze molecular data including computational tools associated with sequence information
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest literature; participate in group meetings to discuss findings
  • Write scientific manuscripts and grants
  • Present research results and attend conferences 

Minimum Qualifications

  •  MD or Ph.D in Basic Science, Genetics, Molecular/Cancer Biology, Bacteriology/Microbiology etc.
