WIEGO is a global action-research-policy network that seeks to improve the status of the working poor in the informal economy, especially women. Worldwide, an estimated two billion people — 61 percent of all working people in the world and 70 percent of those working in middle- and low-income countries — work in the informal economy, meaning that they lack the labour and social protections that help smooth income, protect against risk, and keep households out of poverty.
Reporting to the Operations Director, the Information Systems and Admin Coordinator will have a wide range of responsibilities ensuring the successful functioning of WIEGO’s information systems. This will include day to day management and troubleshooting of WIEGO’s intranet and Google Workspace. This will include responding to queries and delivering training to WIEGO Team Members, who work remotely across the world.
We expect this to be a position for 4 days a week but there is some flexibility for the right candidate. We are happy to consider candidates who wish to work from WIEGO’s Manchester office, or from home in any location globally. Salary is dependent on experience, location and the role profile as defined by WIEGO’s Remuneration Policy– this will be discussed with the successful candidate.
The successful candidate will need a solution orientated approach to troubleshoot day to day issues, with strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with remote Team Members. You will have experience managing an Intranet system and knowledge of Google Workspace, Zoom and Excel, including the ability to support others with these applications. Finally, you will be a self-starter, with the ability to work independently and prioritise your own workload.
