SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association which, for nearly 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters covering their vital needs: water, food and shelter. Being particularly committed to the fight against water-borne diseases, the first cause of mortality in the world, SI intervenes with an expertise in the fields of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also that of food security and livelihoods. SI is present in around twenty countries; its teams – a total of 2,000 employees made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent employees at the headquarters, and a few volunteers – intervene with professionalism and commitment in the respect of other cultures.
RLH-coop. is a humanitarian logistics cooperative created 2021, currently regrouping 9 humanitarian organizations. Its main objective is to increase logistics efficiency through resources pooling.
All members of the cooperative actively participate in the recognition of logistics as a strategic pillar for humanitarian operations, through the implementation of projects pooling human and material resources. Based on inclusive governance and the mobilisation of the expertise of all its members, RLH Coop provides logistical support to all humanitarian partners through the mobilisation of technical experts, the coordination of joint procurement and the management of complex purchases.
This position is recruited and hired by Solidarités International, on behalf of RLH-coop.
ABOUT THE JOB
General Scope of role
In coordination with the cooperative’s partners and based on the analysis of available data, the operations coordinator is responsible for identifying opportunities for joint actions and ensuring their implementation.
He/she actively participates in the operational structuring and development by creating and formalising operating procedures within a common reference framework.
As a managing member team of RLH-coop., he/she contributes to transversal reflections and defines the vision of operations
Responsibilities and duties
Elaboration of the Cooperative’s development strategy
- Participate in the definition of the cooperative’s overall strategy
- Create the conditions for the application of the strategy in the operations.
- Participate actively in programming work
- Propose and develop resources pooling projects, based on partner’s data at HQ and field level
- Support the cooperative’s management in transversal reflexions and carry the vision of the operations
Relevance and quality of mutualisation projects
- Ensure the relevance of the field teams’ proposals
- Validate the approaches and projects technical elements
- Design operational processes
- Ensure the relevance and coherence of all projects with regard to the needs of the partners.
- Ensure that all programmes are implemented in accordance with the cooperative’s operational strategy and donor requirements
- Ensuring achievement of projects’ results
- Develop teams capacities
- Supervise projects through regular field visits
Operations Coordination, support and monitoring
- Ensure cycle project management implementation at all times
- Ensure the update and consolidation of countries activities chronograms
- Ensure the monitoring of project indicators in close collaboration with programme managers and management.
- Ensure indicators follow up
Participate to the monthly board review of programs
- Provide technical and methodological support to programme managers for the planning and implementation of activities
- Supervise and support the programme managers
- Anticipate and mitigate possible bottlenecks of operations implementation
- Propose reorientations of activities according to the evolution of the context and indicators
- Propose activities modifications according to context evolutions and indicators
Compilation and analyses of « resources-pooling activities »
- Participate in the design of project and reporting tools
- Participate to centralisation and diffusion of procedures, policies and tools.
- Build a network of expertise, develop technical partnerships with external partners in the framework of the action and the objectives of the project.

- Coordinate with board of directors on compiling operational methodology, lessons learned exercises Ensure that handover reports are completed by all programme managers before the end of their contract and communicated to headquarters.
- Ensure handover report are produced and shared in due time by all program managers
Operations’ human resources management
- Define and/or adapt job descriptions, in collaboration with HQ HR departments and the Support Coordinator
- Ensure onboarding, briefings, and induction of program incomings staffs
- Set up training and presentations in line with operational and business development
- Evaluate staff’s performance
- Facilitate coordination meetings and workshops
- Organize and facilitate operations department workshops
Reporting, communication, and external representation
- Support the board of directors on fundraising activities and projects proposals
- Ensure adequate operations department information sharing
- Consolidate activity reports and supervise the donor’s compliance (reports, annexes)
- Ensure respect of timeframe and deadlines for all reports
- In collaboration with Board of Directors, establish and maintain communication channels with donors, UN Agencies, logistics cluster and other organisations
- Represent the cooperative at all required meetings or forums as required
- Ensure smooth communication with cooperative founders and partners on operational matters
YOUR PROFILE
Experience
- Humanitarian experience, at least 5 years
- Field Program and Logistics coordination experiences or equivalent is required (3 years)
- Senior management experience (2 years)
- Consortium or Lead Consortium experience is highly recommended
Knowledge and Skills
- Fluent in English and French
- Strong leadership
- Strong skills in presentation and facilitation (English and French)
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders in a quickly changing environment
- Interpersonal skills and teamwork capacities

- IT: Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, Power BI
SI WILL OFFER YOU
- Position based at Solidarités International’s Headquarters, in Clichy (France) with short visits to the field. Teleworking commodities from France are available.
- Fixed-term contract, 17 months
- Gross monthly salary: from 3 744 € to 3 900 € depending on the experience of the candidate
- 12 days of TOIL Day/year
