About the National Trafficking Sheltered Alliance

The National Trafficking Sheltered Alliance (NTSA) is a network of service providers committed to enhancing services and increasing access to care for survivors of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. NTSA is working to achieve this mission through three initiatives:

  • Knowledge Center – Caregivers helping survivors every day often feel isolated as they face the challenge of overwhelmingly complex trauma and barriers in the recovery process of survivors. NTSA offers resources, training, and community to caregivers to help them enhance the quality of care they offer survivors.

  • Alliance Referral System (ARS) – NTSA’s referral system has now served more than 500 survivors seeking long-term housing programs. Of those, 91% are US Citizens. This is not just an international issue. Through our national network, we efficiently connect survivors with the appropriate programs that suit their needs.

  • Accreditation- Survivor residential services is a young and emerging field comprised of housing programs that have been open for an average of 8 years. While many provide high-quality services to survivors, a national and independent resource for establishing accountability and minimum standards of care does not exist. NTSA is developing an accreditation model specific to housing programs to ensure that every survivor in the United States receives appropriate and quality care.
