Regional Program Operations and Humanitarian Officer
ROLE PURPOSE
As a key member of the LAC regional office operations team, the Regional Operations Officer (ROO) provides the Operations team and its Director (DPO) support in the areas of information management, cross-functional and operational support. Especially, the ROO will ensure effective information flows and assistance in adherence to and operations procedures. The post-holder will effectively and efficiently support operations systems that aim to improve programme delivery and quality in LAC. The Operations Officer may also provide emergency preparedness and response support to the LACRO humanitarian team as needed.
In order to be successful you will bring/have:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 2-3 years in a role relevant for this position: data analyst; team support function, reporting officer, etc. Preferable with NGO or international organization, working in overseas in the LAC region.
- Proven interest for humanitarian and development work and for the socio-economic environment of the LAC region, attention for detail and ability to effectively manage a high volume of data and information, ability to handle/priorities challenging and multi-tasked workload in complex working environment.
- Team player, eager to learn and be challenged; interest for developing a career in the sector
- Robust IT skills in the area of data management and collaborative tools; office suite;
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal / written communication skills in order to deal tactfully and sensitively with a wide range of people in a large organisation, very often at a distance. Result- focused with a strong team support orientation.
- Willingness to travel to Country Offices for operational and humanitarian support, and capacity building purposes
- Excellent English and Spanish language skills. French (desirable)
