Postdoctoral Associate

Summary

Looking to recruit a Postdoctoral Associate in the Sreekumar lab. We are a dedicated to scientific research focusing on cancer Biology and Metabolism. Specific area of research for this postdoctoral associate/ fellow post-doctoral trainee to study the molecular alterations associated with prostate cancer health disparities. The candidate should have outstanding communication and writing skills and should be a good team player. Prior experience in the areas of prostate cancer biology and bioinformatics is required. Candidate should be able to analyze and interpret spatial gene expression data, design logical follow up experiments, execute them, analyze the data, interpret the data as well as demonstrate competency in trouble shooting. On the technical side, the candidate should be well versed with in cell culture, organoid cultures, shRNA based knockdowns, phenotypic assessment using functional studies, QPCR, immunoblot etc. Experience with in vivo work is a must and should include generation of xenograft tumors, survival surgery and in vivo drug. administration.

Job Purpose

Postdoctoral Associates are trainees working in an apprenticeship mode in preparation for a career as a scientific professional.

Job Duties

• Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
• Evaluates and analyzes data.
• May establish new research protocols and procedures.
• Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals.

Minimum Qualifications

• MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
• No experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Early stage Postdoctoral Associate.
• Must have publications in relation to prostate cancer/cancer biology research.
• Must have done mouse work/In Vivo.
• Needs to be highly independent and organized. 
• Needs to be able to operate Python and/or R to manage data.
