UNICEF is embarking on an accelerated effort to increase uptake and systematic usage of UNISON – the UNICEF-adapted Salesforce customer relationship management system (CRM) – across the spectrum of private sector partnerships globally, including UNICEF National Committees, as well as introducing the tool for the management of public sector partnerships. The ultimate goal is to maintain and manage all donor partner relationships on UNISON globally (horizontally and vertically), driving revenue growth and promoting partnership knowledge-sharing and coordination, tracking of income and pipeline funding, and enabling increased financial and non-financial support to drive results for children.
The UNISON Business Analyst will play a critical role, translating the business needs of Country Office and Regional Office partnership managers to the Technical Team and ensuring efficient collaboration to maximize output of the Project.
For every child, support
Under the direct supervision of the Sr. Project Manager (UNISON), the Salesforce Business Analyst is expected to work in the planning, design, development, testing, roll-out and support of the private and public CRM solution with the Salesforce platform. The incumbent will be a vital link between the business and technical teams and be responsible for drafting documents, consulting and coordinating with relevant Divisions / Country Offices and Regional Offices, as necessary, and translating requirements to support effective integration of the systems with other UNICEF enterprise platforms.
This role is expected to take ownership and respond to operational issues and communication to the wider team. The incumbent will demonstrate strong ability to effectively self-manage priorities and be able to collaborate effectively between end users and technical teams.
The incumbent will work closely with the Sr. Project Manager (UNISON), Business Relation Management team, business stakeholders, platform vendor, and technical team (Salesforce Solution lead, Integration developer, Salesforce support resources, contracted providers of Salesforce apps) in roll out and adoption of the technical solution. The focus will be primarily on Country Office and Regional Office solutions and uptake.
How can you make a difference?
1. Assess business user needs and coordinate with technical teams to inform and shape technical solution
- Work with Country and Regional Office teams and end users to gather, understand and define business requirements and translate the requirements into technical briefs.
- Develop user stories and to-be process flows to deliver business requirements. Ability to identify gaps and look for ways to improve system adoption.
- Support Senior Business Analyst to ensure solutions for Country and Regional Offices are consistent with and support the larger infrastructure and workflow.
2. Document and maintain business requirements
- Contribute to the maintenance and update of planning tools and assessments to support technical design, business requirements gathering and the implementation of the CRM for Country and Regional Offices.
- Create reports and dashboards to meet operational requirements.
- Provide input to the planning, development, testing and global roll-out of enhancements on the CRM for Country and Regional Offices.
- Support the team to create and maintain documentation on processes, application configuration, user support materials and systems operations documents.
3. Facilitate UNISON adoption and usage
- Data cleansing and mapping to import large volumes of data.
- Deliver system demos, show-and-tell sessions and end-to-end system testing for Country and Regional Offices.
- Contribute to the development of training materials and content and conduct user training sessions and support user adoption.
4. Monitor and measure progress of project
- Track common sources of technical issues or questions and provide input to Senior Business Analyst and technical team.
- Inform Senior Business Analyst’s decision-making on possible process changes to help optimize current procedures in support of maximizing outcomes.
- Manage daily workload and maintain SLA to provide quality services to end user.
DELIVERABLES
Under the direct supervision of the UNISON Senior Project Manager, the incumbent is expected to:
- Identify objectives and timeframes for implementation of UNISON in Country and Regional Offices, including mapping of business requirements and identification of necessary enhancements.
- In collaboration with Regional Office teams, build the capacity of Partnerships teams in Country and Regional Offices and proactively guide and support them in the effective use of UNISON. This will include: a stock-take to assess current capacity; hosting trainings to upskill Partnerships staff on use of UNISON across all regions; and fielding queries for UNISON support from Country and Regional Offices.
- Support Partnerships teams in Regional and Country Offices to upload new information and ‘clean-up’ pre-existing (2020 data) in UNISON to ensure it accurately reflects the portfolio of current partnerships and new opportunities from both private and public sector partners.
- Develop and/or fine-tune market-specific dashboards and reports generated in UNISON for use in Country and Regional management decision-making and partner management to promote collaboration across teams and the rest of the organization and to inform Regional and Global analytics and forecasting.

Education
- An advanced university degree in management information systems, computer science, business administration, information technology management or other related social science field is required.
- Alternatively, a first university degree combined with two additional years of relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Experience:
-
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in a large international organization and/or corporation with public and private sector fundraising domain is required, as elaborated below:
- Web/mobile solutions, data management and business intelligence solutions; CRM solutions, specifically with Salesforce.
- Agile project management, front end transactional platforms, non-profit or commercial marketing.
- Experience of working with SharePoint desirable.
- Experience of UNICEF or UN is an asset.
Others:
- Flexibility and agility to adapt to changing and evolving business requirements and objectives.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Has the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences, as well as to effectively translate business needs to technical experts. Experience of working with cross-functional teams of technical and non-technical professionals.
Language requirements:

Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
