Summary of position:
Working in the Common Services team of the High Commission of Canada in Trinidad and Tobago under the general direction of the Management and Consular Officer, the incumbent is the focal point for providing a wide range of services, guidance and support to clients within the High Commission. The incumbent leads on key finance and HR responsibilities related to and including property management, financial tracking, human resources, information management, and materiel management/procurement. The position is also responsible for the management of an assistant and a receptionist.


Essential qualifications:
Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, experience and language. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and CV how they meet each of these essential qualifications.

Language:
Fluency in English (oral and written)

Experience:
• A minimum of four (4) years of recent and direct experience in office administration, finance and HR • Experience in managing client and stakeholder relationships and in providing client service support to customers/clients; • Demonstrated experience in budget planning and forecasting using electronic tools: IMS, Excel, Word, Finstat, Strategia, HRMS, TransUnion, LesPay, ACH(RBC) • Experience supervising employees; • Experience in providing advice, and written reports to management and/or clients on office administration issues including HR.

Operational Requirements:
• Must be able to work overtime on short notice on occasion; • Must be available for occasional duties outside normal working hours (i.e., evenings and weekends); • Hours of work: Normal hours of work for this position are in accordance with Locally-Engaged Staff regulations of 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate must be willing to work evenings and overtime as required. • Travel: This position may require occasional travel throughout Trinidad and Tobago.
