The Women Creating Wealth is the flagship women’s entrepreneurship and enterprise Development accelerator within the Graça Machel Trust Women’s Economic and Social Advancement (WESA) Programme. WESA mission is to build a movement to drive women’s economic and social advancement through, enterprise and leadership
development, network building, advocacy across targeted sectors including finance, business, agribusiness and media. Understanding the untapped growth potential of women’s enterprises, the Graça Machel Trust began a woman focused Pan-African entrepreneurship initiative called Women Creating Wealth (WCW). WCW is designed to transform women’s mindset, enhance the skills and confidence to catalyse their growth potential from income
generation to scalable wealth creation businesses. WCW incorporates the Trust’s work of building networks to advocate, promote and influence women’s leadership in key sectors and engage with power brokers to reduce structural barriers to boost women’s business potential. Since 2016 the Graça Machel Trust in partnership with Virgin Unite has graduated 430 high growth entrepreneurs in Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia and South Africa. The goal of the WCW programme is to increase the entrepreneur’s knowledge and confidence to find new growth strategies, inspiration and networks to grow and lead the growth of their businesses. The role of WCW Project Coordinator will be to work closely with the Project lead to facilitate and provide support for the MasterCard Foundation planning grant to strengthen the WCW scale Up business model and operations.

Duties and responsibilities
Project Coordination and implementation support
• Support project management and coordination of project outcomes and consultants including:
o Outlining a budget based on requirements and tracking costs to deliver project on
budget.
o Managing delivery of the project according to this plan.
o Tracking project and providing regular reports on project status to project team and key
stakeholders.
o Managing and adjusting for any changes in project scope, schedule and / or budget.
• Managing the relationship and communication with the client and all stakeholders, ensuring the
project is delivered to their satisfaction.
• Track and update project lead on the project’s progress, risks and opportunities to problem
solve.
• The use of technology to facilitate project management will be of great advantage.
• Support procurement administration for contracting and paying service providers/consultants.
Knowledge management and programme performance monitoring
• Use templates to document development and produce reports at every phase of the WCW MCF
Project.
• Support WCW data collection, monitoring and evaluation & reporting processes of the 16-week
programme with the M&E team.
• Facilitate the development entrepreneurs’ profiles.
• Conduct periodic research, compile fact sheets and information on women entrepreneurship
development and support thought leadership write ups.
• Support development of key WCW documentation including presentations, project briefs and
funding proposals.
Other
• Participate in GMT organisation-wide events and discussions on related topics/projects.
• Participate in monthly staff meetings, organizational reviews and planning as well as other
meetings that relate to the work of the GMT.
Qualifications
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in the Business/Commerce, Entrepreneurship, Economics, or
Social Sciences. Sensitivity to gender politics and development in Africa will be advantageous.
Experience
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience project management
• Strong leadership skills and ability to inspire and motivate entrepreneurs to achieve goal
Solid experience and passion for managing and coordinating projects.
• Strong experience in customer service/client centricity.
• Excellent communication, writing, interpersonal and analytical skills
Technical competencies (Knowledge, skills and abilities)
• Ability to use information and communication technology as a tool and resources.
• Ability to work independently and in “virtual” teams, as much of the implementation will be
done online.
• Strong communication and writing abilities in English with the ability to produce clear, focused
reports, briefs on variety of issues.
• Strong MS-Office computer skills including data capture
• Understanding of French, Portuguese and Swahili could be an additional asset
