Welcome to the Graduate School Life Science Munich (LSM), from Molecules to Systems!

The Graduate School LSM offers an international doctoral programme to motivated and excellent academically qualified next generation researchers at one of Europe’s top Universities. LSM calls for doctoral applications on a yearly basis, open from the 1st of October until the 30th of November 2021.

The Graduate School Life Science Munich is part of the Faculty of Biology and the Faculty of Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Pharmacy of the Ludwig-Maximilans-Universität München (LMU). These excellent faculties are ranked among the top biology and biochemistry educational institutions in Germany. Together with the LMU Gene Center and the Klinikum der Universtität München (KUM), they belong to the HighTechCampus in Grosshadern-Martinsried south of Munich that is well-known for international state-of-the-art research in life sciences. https://www.lsm.bio.lmu.de/faculty/index.html

The special characteristic and incentive of the Graduate School LSM lies in its transdisciplinarity and intersectoral broadness. It aims at preparing young life scientists for the new era of molecular, systems-oriented biosciences. LSM doctorates are given the opportunity to learn and command a variety of techniques. Furthermore, the graduate programme holds various workshops and seminars that strengthen and prepare doctorates for a successful career as scientists.

The DAAD and LSM jointly award 2 full scholarships for doctoral study financed by the DAAD Graduate School Scholarship Programme (GSSP). This scholarship will be awarded in 2022!
