UNICEF is seeking an individual contractor to be responsible for assisting the uninterrupted supply of supplies and services, adapted to the particular context and through compliance with UNICEF’s policies, procedures and ethics standards. This person will support the timely and effective service delivery, including for emergencies, programmes and procurement services partners, assisting in creating sustainable supply chain systems for deliveries of UNICEF supplies from China to program countries. The individual contractor will work with colleagues in UNICEF China country office and Supply Division to assist in execution and implementation of activities aimed at improving and optimizing delivery of supplies from China to program countries and the warehouse and inventory function. The individual contractor will provide direct support in terms of facilitation, coordination, monitoring, logistics and shipping warehousing and inventory management of UNICEF supplies under the general guidance of the Deputy Representative of Operations and direct supervision by the Supply and Procurement Specialist including but not limited to COVAX related supply and logistics in China. This person will facilitate interaction with suppliers, ensuring correct and timely documentation, expedite and follow up on deliveries, coordinate between suppliers and freight forwarders and assist with coordination with Chinese authorities |
How can you make a difference?

1. In collaboration with the Deputy Representative Operations and under direct supervision by the Supply and Procurement Specialist Individual Contractor is responsible for the facilitation and coordination of deliveries and shipments from China. 2. Facilitation of interaction with suppliers in coordination with Supply Division procurement centers. This includes ensuring correct and timely documentation. 3. Provide support to warehouse operation out of China, in close collaboration with the warehouse and inventory management center in UNICEF Supply Division and WFP/UNHRD in Guangzhou, through ensuring accuracy of data, support in annual physical count, support receiving and dispatch of UNICEF stocks and escalates any issues related to warehouse operations. 3. In liaison with forwarding agents arranges shipments of supplies from the warehouse or from suppliers in line with the mode of shipment identified with the sales order, considering programme priority, warehouse capacity, purchase order delivery dates, emergency and special requests from country offices & procurement services customers. 4. Expediting and follow up on deliveries -Coordination between suppliers and freight forwarders -Assistance with coordination with Chinese authorities, China Civil Aviation, customs and other export formalities etc. -When needed provide requests for Chinese authorities for facilitation of specific shipments
9. Maintains statistical data and carries out ad hoc analysis of shipping- related topics. |
