Scientific Project Manager

The Human Technopole Foundation is looking for a Scientific Project Manager for the HT Centre for Neurogenomics.

The Scientific Project Manager, reporting directly to Giuseppe Testa, Head of the Centre for Neurogenomics, will be responsible for high-level scientific-administrative and strategic project management, including for large-scale inter-institutional research programs, built around the high definition modelling of neuropsychiatric and neurological disorders through the integration of human brain organoids, multi-omic technologies and high resolution clinical phenotyping.

S(he) will have the following main responsibilities:

  • Supporting the management of scientific projects (Managing internal and external project deadlines, tasks and operational processes, tracking outputs, writing summaries and reports, collecting and archiving documents and data);
  • Supporting the establishment and management of strategic collaborations with external partners and stakeholders (eg hospitals, academic collaborators and consortia);
  • Managing the flow of studies (samples, data and documentation), liaising across the relevant offices of the collaborating institutions (including aiding with documentation for sample collections, ethics and Research Centre Agreements);
  • Supporting grant applications, paper writing and project reporting
  • Supporting the management of communication of the Research Centre, managing the official social network accounts of the Research Centre labs and researching/archiving the relevant blogs/threads/posts for streamlined analytics;
  • Combined administrative and scientific support liaising with the relevant units of HT, including high level supervision of finance and budget administration, grant costing, material and data transfer agreements processing (MTA and DTA), procurement, ethics and data governance;
  • High-level management of centre logistics (faculty onboarding, service contracts execution including legal responsibility as RUP for all activities of the Centre.

Job requirements

  • At least 3 years of proven experience of scientific project management, preferably in neuroscience and/or human disease biology;
  • Professional English scientific writing skills for correspondence, resumes, project reporting and research summaries;
  • Experience with execution of high-level and complex strategic projects;
  • Experience managing scientific budgets and drafting reports;
  • Fluency in English – HT is an international research institute;
  • Good working knowledge of Italian;
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and office managing tools;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills;
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution attitude;
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to manage internal and external confidential information with utmost discretion;
  • Strict attention to detail.
