The position is responsible for managing the day-to-day safety and security of ABA ROLI’s staff, facilities, and operations abroad. Spearheads the development of safety and security related policies and procedures and works with field offices to ensure compliance with the same.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
● Develops, monitors, and appropriately reacts to global threats that have the potential to impact ABA staff, assets, facilities, volunteers, and members attending ABA-sponsored events.
● Operationalizes safety and security policies, plans, and procedures including, but not limited to: Travel Security, Journey Management, Incident Response, Crisis Management, Medical Emergencies, and Medical and Security Evacuations.
●Collects, compiles, and analyzes security related information and analyses from both formal and informal networks to continually assess the security posture for all ABA ROLI offices, and where necessary, adjusts security posture.
● Conducts security risk and vulnerability assessments of offices and projects to ensure minimum security standards are met.
● Ensures all new staff members and consultants receive appropriate safety and security briefings.
● Develops safety and security presentations and training materials as needed.
● Provides routine safety and security briefings for ABA volunteers and staff traveling internationally.
● Performs other related duties as required.
Required Education, Qualifications, Experience
● Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and at least 6 years’ experience in corporate security management and safety.
● Previous experience working in an international location in a post-conflict environment or in which the host country has an ongoing political transition.
● Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and plan, coordinate and monitor his/her own work plan with minimum supervision and to work under pressure or in crisis situations.
● Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to listen and work in a multicultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity. Proven communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Education, Qualifications, Experience
● Previous experience providing security services for global organization particularly INGOs or development organizations.
