A day in the life of a Facilites Technician, Hangar – Greensboro, NC
At Samaritan’s Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do! We start each day with a time of devotions and prayer. We hear from members of our staff, both from IHQ and our global offices, as well a special guest speakers who encourage us in God’s word. We then join together to prayer for one another, as well as praying for staff and volunteers who serve around the globe. We get paid to start each day this way!
Job Duties
- Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
- Performs day to day maintenance and housekeeping for the building and grounds. This includes HVAC, electrical, building set-up, security system, panel systems, furniture, painting, janitorial, plumbing, carpentry, grounds care, and lawn equipment maintenance.
- Performs maintenance and upkeep of the Hangar Epoxy floor.
- Supports Mission Aviation (MAS) staff as needed.
- Oversees the work of outside vendors and subcontractors. Maintains relationships with vendors. Communicates and organizes ministry needs and facilitates the smooth reception of services and goods.
- Develops and implements a preventative maintenance schedule for building and building systems. Reports any departure from preventive maintenance schedules to the Director of Facilities.
- Reports maintenance or safety items that are discovered during the course of scheduled work.
- Keeps records for maintenance and preventative maintenance. Creates maintenance schedules for property, grounds, and equipment through ManagerPlus.
- Maintains a safe work environment. Performs all work in a safe manner according to associated safety guidelines.
- Follows policies and procedures of Samaritan’s Purse as set forth in the Policy Manual.
- Attends daily morning devotions and participates in prayer support for the ministry, its donors, and volunteers.
- Maintains a strong active Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public.

Qualifications & Experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and forklift certification
- Ability to load and unload various equipment and supplies
