It is a fixed term position for 3 years.
Main purpose of job:
Accompanied with junior mason and labourers, can lay building materials including concrete and bricks, and can construct or repair surfaces or structures. Can work in conditions include restricted movement, tuff environment or some time in unfavourable conditions, lifting or carrying heavy objects by maintaining safe working practices. Report to Deputy Manager TWG.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve:
The job includes:
- Prepare surfaces prior to beginning work.
- Fabrication, alteration, repairing and maintenance of walls, sidewalks, street curbs, floors, bathroom showers, sink counters, partitions, manholes, drains and other structures or surfaces.
- Laying of blocks or bricks following blueprints, plans or drawings.
- Determine work requirements and sequence of masonry/tile assignments through review of work orders, plans or drawings.
- Lay out work using chalk lines, plumb bobs, tapes, squares and levels.
- Mix cement using hoes, cement-mixing equipment, and hand tools.
- Cut or break blocks or bricks and concrete using hammers, jack hammer, drills or hand tools.
- Operate crate vehicle.
Resources managed (staff and expenditure):
- Responsible for casual skilled or semi-skilled labour (Daily Wages) that vary depending on project for planning, staffing, controlling.
- Responsible for all masonry related tools, equipment and material storage and management.
- Knowledge of related tools, masonry techniques, equipment and materials.
- Skills in construction, alteration, repair, and maintenance of masonry structures and surfaces.
- Five years’ masonry or bricklaying experience; or,
- Middle class school education certificate; or,
- One year certificate in technical training program in masonry/ bricklaying from any recognized institute; or,
- Any equivalent combination of experience and education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Language requirements:
Language: English and Urdu
Level of language proficiency required: Intermediate level in Urdu and beginner level in English is acceptable

Salary Details:
For BHC candidates, the Country Based Staff BHC Terms & Conditions will apply. For other than BHC candidates the basic salary will be PKR 65,271 per month.
