Human Technopole (HT)’s overarching mission is to promote and contribute to improving human health and wellbeing, including healthy ageing. It pursues these aims by carrying out frontier research (mix of fundamental and translational) in the life sciences, particularly focussing on developing novel approaches for personalised and preventive medicine. The HT operating model represents a combination of creating an internationally competitive research institute and being a contributor to the Italian research community by broad academic and translational collaboration.
Human Technopole, in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of University and Research, invites for applications for the Early Career Fellowship Programme (ECF): A programme to help talented researchers start their own independent research laboratory at Italian universities or research institutes in the field of life sciences.
The programme is open to young scientists of any nationality who have completed a doctoral degree within the last eight years. The ECF will be awarded on the condition that they choose a hosting Italian university or research institute, different from their current affiliation and from HT. At the same time, the ECF Programme will facilitate collaborative relationships between HT and the Italian research system.
Early Career Fellows will receive a total “research and remuneration package” of up to 200,000.00 euros per year for a period of five years. The initial ECF package is intended to cover the salary of the PI, as well as of junior researchers and/or other research related costs including publications, travel, and training costs.
The candidates will be selected according to stringent criteria of scientific excellence and on the basis of projects which are in line with Human Technopole’s areas of Research Centres: Genomics, Neurogenomics, Computational Biology, Structural Biology, and Heath Data Science.
A detailed description of the programme guidelines, funding, eligibility criteria, and instructions on how to apply can be found on the HT Career site
Application Closing Date: January 31st 2022
