Main purpose of job:

 

The British Consulate-General (BCG) in Miami is seeking a highly motivated Corporate Services Officer (CSO) to provide administrative support to British Consulate General team based in Miami and the Consular Agency in Orlando. The jobholder will support the Corporate Services Manager with Finance, HR, Protocol, Facilities functions as well as being the IT Support Officer for the Consulate.

 

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve:Supporting staff with any finance, IT and HR related questions;

·       Supporting the Corporate Services Manager on day-to-day administrative and facilities management of the Post;

·       Responsible for conducting new hire orientation, including liasing with central IT and HR teams in Washington DC to set-up IT accounts and complete required employment paperwork;

·       Act as point of contact for the US State Department’s Office of Foreign Missions (OFM) in order to complete all necessary paperowrk and resolve issues as they arise;

·       Ensure all payments to local suppliers, contacting vendors and any other financial processes are completed accurately, in-line with the BCG’s polcieis and in a timely manner;

·       Providing staff with IT support including the setting up of necessary tools and equipment

·       Any other duties as assigned.

Essential CriteriaEssential Criteria:

·       A minimum of 2+ years of relevant work experience;

·       Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including the ability to communicate at all levels;

·       Excellent problem solving skills, sound judgement, common sense and the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure;

·       Strong interpersonal skills – a team player with the ability to work with others and integrate fully into a wider network;

·       Attention to detail and ability to take ownership and make decissions

·       Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes

Desirable Criteria:

·       Experience of working in the public sector

·       Knowedlege/Experience of UK Government
