Opportunity Overview:

We have a new opening for a new Data Visualization Specialist to join our Information Technology Department!  The Data Visualization Specialist is responsible for creating visual representations of data for leaders across the organization.  Storytelling through data analysis enables team members to discover valuable insights hidden in data. Position Overview:

• Must maintain comprehensive knowledge of the reporting products and their functionality and features.
• Must bring deep knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau.
• Preferred experience utilizing SQL. 
• Produces reports, dashboards, views and other presentation means to provide comprehensive and actionable information to ministry areas including executive staff and ministry leadership
• Creates and maintains data maps for key IT processes.
• Establishes and maintains processes, rules and monitoring mechanisms to ensure that all data presentations are accurate, complete, consistent, reliable and secure.
• Works with data and system owners to develop a data glossary to ensure that common language is used amongst all data presentations, segmentations and data pulls.
• Evaluates data presentations to ensure data definitions are appropriately applied.
• Works with data and system owners to identify data quality issues, provide guidance on remediation of uncovered issues, and assists with designing ongoing data review and cleanup processes.
• Recommends changes to communications strategy and tactics to increase response, improve return on investment, and improve overall performance of ministry activities.
• Examines and analyzes data to forecast trends in areas like donor engagement, volunteering, and giving patterns.
