Scope of Work:
Donor Reporting
- Proactively leads in the maintenance of the external (VISION) and internal (Excel) donor reporting trackers to ensure that all reports are captured for coordinated and timely delivery to donors.
- Leads the coordination, compilation and editing of UNICEF donor reports. Ensures adherence to criteria set out in Executive Directives/Guidelines, donor contract stipulations and ESARO quality assurance standards.
- Ensures that 100 per cent of donor reports are submitted on time and uploaded to the Fiori donor reports tracker.
- Prepare cover letters and supporting documentation to accompany official report submissions, reprogramming and extension requests to donors.
- Lead the development of internal and external briefing documents.
- Support with the coordination of inputs for key donor deliverables such as grant mid-term and annual reviews, audits, programme closures and other ad hoc requests.
Resource Mobilization
- Mid-Term Revision of the existing Resource Mobilization Strategy including the diversification of partners through donor mapping (public and private sector).
- Mid-Term Revision of the existing Resource Mobilization Action Plan.
- Identification of a minimum of 5 new potential high-value funding partners per output
- Analysis of donor funding channeled to partners in Ethiopia but not to UNICEF. Creation of comparative advantage narrative for funding UNICEF, per output.
- Creation of one-pager pitch concept notes per output
- Creation of concise donor friendly CPD 2-4 pager
- Creation of donor friendly CPD Powerpoint (PPT)
- Support in the preparation of funding proposals and concept notes
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in International relations, political science, communications, international development, or another relevant technical field.
*A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree. - A minimum of 5 [Five] years of relevant professional experience in one or more of the following areas is required: communications, contribution management, resource mobilization, external relations, or other relevant area.
- Previous donor reporting experience is required.
- Experience working in highly demanding office settings or emergencies is desired.
- Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
