The British Embassy in Copenhagen is part of a world-wide network representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas is looking for an Intern to join the dynamic and hardworking Department for International Trade (DIT) team. 

The DIT team consist of 10 professional trade and investment staff working with Danish and UK-based companies to advance their trade and investment strategies. We enjoy close collaboration with our head office in London as well as with the Nordic & Baltic DIT teams in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

During the internship, you will gain insight into and become actively involved in a variety of interesting areas related to trade and investment such as:

  • Market research and business development.

  • Industrial sector mapping in the fields of Renewables, Infrastructure and Healthcare among others.

  • Support UK businesses to grow internationally in a sustainable way.

  • Accelerating UK involvement in priority DIT campaigns for Clean Growth, Technology & AI.

  • Event management and participation.

  • Stakeholder management.

  • Assisting in Trade Policy work.

  • Some overseas travel may be required.

Future projects planned for 2022 will enable the successful candidate to work across a number of sectors.

  • The DIT team is looking to recruit a determined, self-sufficient, enterprising and result-oriented individual who is driven by an interest for business, economics and trade policy.

  • We are looking for commercial flair, strong interpersonal skills, excellent English communication skills and the ability to deliver on set objectives.

  • Fluency in English (C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Danish language skills are desirable but not essential.

We offer a 5 months unpaid internship.

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Copenhagen are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Danish employment law.

Visa/work permit requirements: Candidates must currently hold the independent right to live and work in Denmark and be prepared to ensure that right remains throughout the scope of the contract.
