Position Summary
SJAC is embarking on a new project supporting four Syrian human rights organizations focused on documentation and advocacy for detainees. SJAC and its partners will be providing financial support as well as capacity building across a wide range of skills. The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating the efforts of all partners and grantees, ensuring that the project remains on schedule and that necessary donor reporting is completed.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with Syrian human rights organizations in order to set goals and identify capacity building needs
- Coordinate regular meetings and trainings between SJAC and subgrantees
- Manage contracts with a variety of support consultants, including psychosocial support, ensuring that each subgrantee receives support according to their needs.
- Produce quarterly narrative reports, and ensure that each individual subgrantee provides reports to SJAC in a timely manner.
- Provide basic support in budget management, and coordinate with outside consultants for additional financial support as needed.
- Collect and analyze M&E indicators.
- Create and manage workplans, providing monthly updates to SJAC management.
Skills and Experience
- Relevant university degree, BA or MA preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in project management, including donor reporting, compliance, including familiarity with the 2CFR200, and monitoring and evaluation.
- Attention to detail and the ability to coordinate complex schedules among a large network of partners
- Knowledge of the Syrian conflict and ongoing human rights violations.
- Sensitivities to the needs and dynamics of survivors of serious violations and their families.
- Professional fluency in written and spoken Arabic.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
