Common Services is undertaking the move of the UNCIEF Geneva Office that requires extra capacity within the maintenance tea, Common Services is therefore looking to employ an individual contractor to assist the maintenance team with non-complex maintenance tasks as identified below.

How can you make a difference?

The purpose of the job is to perform non-complex maintenance tasks as outlined below.

MAIN TASKS and DELIVERABLES

The individual contractor will be evaluated on a monthly basis based on their output to deliver on the tasks as set out by Common Services.

  • Project One: Assemble Furniture for PFP Pilot Spaces (Dec 2020)
  • Project Two: Assemble Furniture for PFP Final Spaces (Feb 2021)
  • Project Three: Assemble Furniture for ECARO Collaboration Spaces (March 2021)
  • Project Four: Assemble Furniture for EMOPS Collaboration Spaces (April 2021)
  • Day to Day:
    • Set up meeting room in various seating arrangements, according to the request.
    • Dissemble & Move PFP EMOPS ECARO furniture
    • Set up meeting room in various seating arrangements, according to the request.
    • Ability to perform basic DIY (none complex)
    • Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks as required.
    • Moving of office furniture from one office to another as and when required.
    • Any other assignments entrusted by Maintenance Associate/Admin. Officer/OPS Manager.

ESTIMATED DURATION OF THE CONTRACT AND PROPOSAL

6 months, full-time, tentatively starting on 2nd November 2020.

The individual contractor will be entitled to 1.5 days paid time off every month and official UN holidays.

REPORTING TO 

The initial supervisor will be the Maintenance Associate, Geneva Common Services. However, the individual contractor will on occasion be instructed by other members of Common Services team on a need basis.

WORKPLACE

Geneva, Switzerland

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • 1 to 2 year’s work experience relating to Asset Management, Inventory, building maintenance, renovation, construction.
  • Fluency in French and working knowledge of English.
  • Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment.
  • High flexibility and availability.
  • Service orientation.
  • Proof of health insurance coverage valid in Switzerland must be provided by the selected candidate prior to commencement of work.
  • The contractor is expected to be onsite up to 9 hours per day (including the lunch break) on a timely manner between 7am and 7pm Monday to Friday.
