Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Expert (f/m/d)

(One-Year Limited Contract), 30 hours/week

RED NOSES International is an artistic and humanitarian organization engaging with different vulnerable groups (children in hospitals, children with disabilities, elderly people and children in crisis situations) through the art of clowning. The RNI Office in Vienna is the Headquarters for eleven RNI Offices throughout Europe and the Middle East, and is also responsible for implementing the Emergency Smile programme, which brings clowning to children in crisis situations around the world.

RNI is looking for a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Expert for a one-year limited contract. The Expert will be responsible for developing a MEL system for the Emergency Smile programme. Working closely with the Programme and Artistic Departments, s/he will lead a needs assessment, design qualitative and quantitative research tools; lead data collection and analysis; create and disseminate engaging reports, and develop strategies to maximize the uptake of lessons learned.

Your tasks

EVIDENCE GENERATING

  • Lead a needs assessment for the Emergency Smile programme
  • Develop and implement MEL activities for the Emergency Smile programme

KNOWLEDGE SHARING

  • Analyse data and communicate learnings on a regular basis, and develop strategies to maximize the uptake of lessons learned
  • Produce reports and presentations suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences

INTERNAL CAPACITY BUILDING

  • Support capacity-building activities throughout RNI in how to complete reports and how to conduct evaluations, interviews, and surveys

Your background

  • Master’s degree in social science or related field
  • Proven technical and relevant experience in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning for humanitarian, development, artistic, or cultural programmes
  • Sound understanding of research methodology (both quantitative and qualitative)
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills with high standards of quality and the courage to implement innovative ideas
  • A committed and enthusiastic, proactive team player
  • Experience conducting research in relevant fields (crisis, artistic/cultural) an advantage
  • Experience conducting research with children an advantage
  • Fluent written and spoken English required, further languages an advantage

Position details

  • 30 hours/week
  • Reports to the RNI Research and Evaluation Manager
  • Travel may be required, depending on developing safety regulations

The salary set for this position is EUR 35.000,00 gross per annum (for 38,50 hours per week).
