Position: HR Officer

Location: Seiyun, Yemen

Length of Contract: 12 Months

Responsibilities:

· The Human Resource Officer (HRO) will be responsible for the development of staff and will manage all activities related to staff.

  • The HRO will serve staff and management, by handling day to day questions and helping resolve work-related problems.
  • The HRO will assist in communicating IRVD policies and procedures and promote understanding within the organization.
  • The HRO will recruit for open positions and perform the full life cycle of recruiting activities including sourcing and screening applicants, maintaining recruiting systems, drafting offer letters, providing follow-through with candidates, and reporting recruiting statistics.
  • The HRO will draft and update job descriptions; assist in classifying positions and/or reclassifying positions as needed.
  • The HRO will lead employee on-boarding activities; answer employee questions and provide support to managers when integrating new hires into the organization.
  • The HRO will conduct background checks on potential staff members, including following up with references provided.
  • The HRO will administer employee benefit programs, answer employee questions, support claim resolution, and maintain related systems.
  • The HRO will support the performance review process; provide employees and managers with information about the process, policies, job duties, and process for promotion.
  • The HRO will lead employee recreation and recognition programs.
  • The HRO will maintain employee records.
  • The HRO is responsible for new hire, termination, and change of status forms with payroll. Serve as employee liaison to assist in problem resolution with issues related to benefit deductions and pay.
  • The HRO will coordinate and ensure completion of employee exit interviews. Report outcome of exit interview information to management and tracks/maintains data.
  • The HRO will ensure staff compliance with Human Resources Manual

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s in administration of Business or social sciences; an Advanced Degree is desired.
  • At least two years of experience in Human Resources or capacity building in the non-profit sector.
  • Strong Arabic, English skills are also preferred.
  • Ability to perform presentations and trainings.
