Main purpose of job:

This position offers the successful candidate an opportunity to work in a high-performing Department for International Trade (DIT) team at the British Office in Taipei. The main purpose of the job is to support the senior commercial officers who deliver & manage UK export related projects and activities in the Tech Team. The job holder will also contribute to the market access objectives of the British companies the Tech Team supports.  

Roles and responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively across sectors and deliver various marketing activities and research tasks. Specific duties and responsibilities will include:

1. Customer Service: support senior commercial officers in providing market overviews and customised market reports to UK companies interested in the Taiwan market.

2. Strategic Partnership management: maintain strategic relationships with identified Taiwanese multipliers and support collaborations and communications with them.

3. Marketing and Event Management: work in liaison with MarComms. colleagues at the post, the region and HQ to carry out marketing activities; manage contractors for sector promotion events.

4. Information management: lead on Tech team data management and other administrative tasks.

5. Market Access: support Tech Team’s market access efforts including research on market barriers and arrangement of meetings for the purpose.

The jobholder will be expected to:

• Deliver assigned market research tasks related to Tech Team’s core sectors.

• Create marketing materials for sector promotion activities.

• Facilitate communications with multipliers and be the contact point for their requests.

• Manage Tech Team’s databases created by interns and answer to HQ’s asks on data inputs and managing.

• Be the team’s market access champion for the Digital Market Access Service.

• Work flexibly to accommodate potential restructure of job responsibilities should there be a need.

• Contribute to wider corporate objectives through active participation in working groups, committees…etc.  

  • Experience of project /event management and customer service.
  • Good working knowledge of Windows 10, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, iMovie, and Photoshop
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with good attention to detail and an ability to self-administer.
  • Level of language required: English and Mandarin – Fluent in Spoken & Written.

• Commercial experience in the tech, healthcare or financial service industries, while not a requirement, would be an advantage.
