Position: Partnership Coordinator

Employer: Anti-Racism Movement (ARM)

Department: Advocacy

Reporting to: Advocacy and Communications Manager

Location: Beirut, Lebanon

Working Hours: 40 hours per week

Contract Type: full-time staff, one-year contract, renewable

Job Purpose

To develop and manage strategic partnerships with activists and organizations in countries of origins of migrant workers.

Areas of Contribution & Related Accountabilities

Strategic Partnerships:

  • Researching activists and organizations in countries of origin to assess compatibility with ARM’s values and politics

  • Reaching out to activists and organizations in countries of origin to introduce ARM’s advocacy work and assess possibilities of collaboration (advocacy & other)

  • Leading on communication with activists and organizations in countries of origin and all the required follow-up

  • Drafting partnership agreements

  • Circulating ARM’s advocacy outputs (letters, statements, social media campaigns, etc.) to partners in countries of origin for endorsement

  • Facilitating connections and communication between partners in countries of origin and migrant communities in Lebanon

  • Establishing referral pathways with partners in countries of origin for reintegration of returnees (psychosocial support, legal support, financial support, vocational training, microfinancing for small businesses, etc.)

  • Following up on reintegration activities and collecting data from partners

  • Periodically assessing ARM’s partnerships and their relevance to ARM’s current work

  • Attending networking events in countries of origin where appropriate

  • Maintaining and regularly updating a database of contacts in countries or origin

  • Highlighting successful partnerships through website and social media posts, in coordination with the Advocacy and Communications Officer

Advocacy Support:

  • Building an in-depth understanding of recruitment practices in countries of origin (formal and informal pathways) and bilateral agreements signed between Lebanon and countries of origin

  • Identifying key issues of interest for advocacy with partners in countries of origin

  • Leading on advocacy related to recruitment practices in countries of origin and debt incurred by workers before coming to Lebanon: writing letters, statements, proposing social media campaigns, etc.

Communications & Work Relationships

Internal Communication

  • Regular contact with Advocacy and Communications Manager, Advocacy and Communications Officer and Community Advocacy Coordinator

  • Occasional contact with Executive Director, Evacuation Registration Officer, Casework Manager

External Communication

  • Regular contact with activists and organizations in countries of origin, and migrant workers in Lebanon

  • Occasional contact with activists and organizations in Lebanon or other countries

Framework, Boundaries, and Decision Making Authority

The jobholder suggests possible solutions to the Advocacy and Communications Manager for final decision-making, and takes necessary actions.

Schedule and Salary

  • Schedule: 40 hours/week. 2 days off per week.

  • Salary: $1750 – $2000 USD / month, depending on experience

Timeline

  • Deadline for Applications: 10 November, 2020 but we will be accepting applications on a rolling basis, which means that early applications have better chances

  • Starting Date: 16 November, 2020

  • Period of Employment: 1 year with possibility of renewal in the same role or a different role at ARM

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Masters degree or equivalent professional experience in Protection, Development Studies, Public Policy or relevant social sciences;

  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of human rights and migration issues, and the situation of migrant workers in Lebanon.

  • Excellent Microsoft Office Skills.

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Arabic. Good command of spoken French.

  • Proven ability to work independently.

  • Excellent analytical skills, interpersonal and communication skills, strategic thinking, teamwork.

  • Excellent organizational skills, team management skills and attention to detail.

  • Proactive and self-motivated.
