The Opportunity

The Education Officer will support the implementation of Save the Children International (SCI) UNSCO project in Salh al Den, in particular to support in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of programming in accordance with grant proposal and guidelines, as well as SCI values and principles. The goal of this project is to improve access to inclusive and protected education for children in Salh al Deen The project will target several locations in Slah Al deen Governorate: Tooz district, Amrly sub district, Slaeman bek sub district and Samra district. The Officer travels between this location and he will be responsible for implementation of part of the project activities and support and monitor partner organizations. Moreover, the Officer will organize and coordinate for workshops, trainings, and partake in needs assessments and evaluations for the projects.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

* University degree in Education, Social Sciences or a related field
* Minimum two years’ professional experience in the education sector.
* Proven ability to work as part of a team
* Demonstrated commitment to improving the lives of children in the school and community.
* Strong understanding of the situation of Education context in Kirkuk.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Proven technical knowledge and skills in the field of participatory development, child participation, education.
* Ability to travel independently, including to rural communities and work long hours.
* Strong Arabic skills, written and spoken. Good English skills, written and spoken
* Strong report writing skills
* Good computer skills (MS Office, including Outlook for email).
* Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches
